Dr. Ricardo Gomez-Flores is a full-time professor in the Biological Sciences School (FCB) at the Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon (UANL), Mexico. He obtained his microbiology undergraduate degree in 1984, his master of sciences in immunology in 1986, and his Ph.D. in microbiology in 1995 at UANL. He has post-doctorate training in microbiology from the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX, and Neuroendocrine Immunology from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria, IL, USA. He is a Level 3 researcher in the National System of Researchers. He has published 161 international indexed scientific articles, 35 national articles, and 17 international book chapters, and is co-author of a university book, "Business Skills Development". He has directed 20 bachelor's, 15 master's, and 16 Ph.D. theses, and has 11 national granted patents. He has held UANL positions as Academic Secretary of Graduate Studies in FCB, Director of Business Incubation and Technology Transfer, and International Accreditation at UANL. He has been awarded the Minority Supplement National Institutes of Health [NIH] Fellowship Grant [1997], the NIH Research Fellowship [F32] [1998-2001], and the National Institute on Drug Abuse [1997, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, y 2003] grant. He was also awarded for his research studies in 1995, 1997, 2000, 2003, 2005, and 2018 at UANL. He is a member of the portfolio of CONAHCYT referees and the Mexican Academy of Sciences.
