I am Dr. Delara Akhter, working as an Assistant Professor in Sylhet Agricultural University, Bangladesh. I received my Bachelor degree from Faculty of Agriculture and completed my Master’s degree from the department of Genetics and Plant Breeding, respectively from Bangladesh Agricultural University, one of the best Universities in Bangladesh. In addition, I was awarded the University Merit Scholarship for my excellent academic performance. I obtained my PhD degree from Zhejiang University, China in the year of 2019 a My study was a unique addition to rice research which resulted in four SCI publications as 1st author in different journals including Journal of International Journal of Molecular Science , Genes, Gene and Rice Science. So far, I have authored several peer-reviewed research papers (4 as first author and several as co-author). I have joined as a Postdoc at Zhejiang University, China, to explore more interesting and fundamental questions in plant and agriculture science. I have been studying the metabolic network mediated by plant peroxisomes that supports plant growth and resilience, and the inter-organelle communication that is critical for plant primary and energy metabolism. My career objective is to contribute to the field of plant and agricultural research by working with integrity and sincerity and thereby achieving the global food security in an eco-friendly and sustainable manner by improving the theoretical foundation for crop improvement.
