Dr. Bart Van Esch received his Master of Technological Design in computational mechanics in 1992 from Twente University, where he also obtained his PhD in 1997. Since then, he has been an associate professor in the Power and Flow division of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Eindhoven University of Technology. He has held part-time positions as a senior hydraulic engineer at Bosman Watermanagement since 2000, where he is responsible for the design and analysis of pumping stations, and as part-time professor at Jiangsu University, China, since 2017. His areas of expertise are thermal and fluid engineering, and energy conversion. Specific topics of interest include hydraulic turbomachinery and computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
