Dejan Orčić is an associate professor at UNSPMF (University of Novi Sad, Faculty of Sciences, Novi Sad, Serbia). He holds a BSc in Chemistry (UNSPMF, 2003) and a PhD in Biochemistry (UNSPMF, 2010). He worked at BB Minakva (2003–2004, as a chemical analyst in quality control), the Bio-Ekološki Center (2004–2006, as a chemical analyst), and UNSPMF (2007–2009, as a research assistant; 2009–2011, as a research associate; 2011–2016, as an assistant professor; 2016–present, as an associate professor). His research interests include the application of chromatographic and spectrometric methods (flash chromatography, HPLC, GC, UV/VIS, ESI–MS, EI–MS, 1D, and 2D NMR) in medicinal plant studies and secondary biomolecules isolation, identification, and quantification. Other interests are the development and application of HPLC–UV/VIS–MS/MS and GC–MS methods for the analysis of food, dietary supplements, pesticides, drugs, and their degradation products. He is a member of the Society for Medicinal Plant Research (GA), the Serbian Chemical Society, the Serbian Biochemical Society, and the Vojvodina Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. He received the award “Dr Zoran Đinđić” for the best young scientist and researcher in the Province of Vojvodina (2014).
