Professor Dr Abdul Rashid Bin Mohamed Shariff, Universiti Putra Malaysia, is a researcher in Precision Agriculture and Spatial Information Engineering. He had completed his PhD in Spatial Information Science and Engineering at the University of Maine, USA; M. Sc. Cadastre and Land Information Management, University of East London, London, UK; and B. Surv. (Land) Hons., University of Technology Malaysia, KL. He has been a lecturer from August 1999 until the present. Modules/courses taught include those with relevance to spatial analytic or GIS applications such as Geographic Information Systems, Remote Sensing Applications, and Spatial Information Management. He is an Associate Researcher at SMART Farming Technology Research Centre (SFT RC), Geospatial Information Science Research Centre (GIS RC), and the Institute of Gerontology (IG). He is currently holding a position as President of the Institution of Geospatial and Remote Sensing Malaysia (IGRSM).
