The rapid dissemination of information has been accompanied by the proliferation of fake news, posing significant challenges in discerning authentic news from fabricated narratives. This study addresses the urgent need for effective fake news detection mechanisms. The spread of fake news on digital platforms has necessitated the development of sophisticated tools for accurate detection and classification. Deep learning models, particularly Bi-LSTM and attention-based Bi-LSTM architectures, have shown promise in tackling this issue. This research utilized Bi-LSTM and attention-based Bi-LSTM models, integrating an attention mechanism to assess the significance of different parts of the input data. The models were trained on an 80% subset of the data and tested on the remaining 20%, employing comprehensive evaluation metrics including Recall, Precision, F1-Score, Accuracy, and Loss. Comparative analysis with existing models revealed the superior efficacy of the proposed architectures. The attention-based Bi-LSTM model demonstrated remarkable proficiency, outperforming other models in terms of accuracy (97.66%) and other key metrics. The study highlighted the potential of integrating advanced deep learning techniques in fake news detection. The proposed models set new standards in the field, offering effective tools for combating misinformation. Limitations such as data dependency, potential for overfitting, and language and context specificity were acknowledged. The research underscores the importance of leveraging cutting-edge deep learning methodologies, particularly attention mechanisms, in fake news identification. The innovative models presented pave the way for more robust solutions to counter misinformation, thereby preserving the veracity of digital information. Future research should focus on enhancing data diversity, model efficiency, and applicability across various languages and contexts.

COVID-19 has become the largest pandemic in recent history to sweep the world. This study is devoted to developing and investigating three models of the COVID-19 epidemic process based on statistical machine learning and the evaluation of the results of their forecasting. The models developed are based on Random Forest, K-Nearest Neighbors, and Gradient Boosting methods. The models were studied for the adequacy and accuracy of predictive incidence for 3, 7, 10, 14, 21, and 30 days. The study used data on new cases of COVID-19 in Germany, Japan, South Korea, and Ukraine. These countries are selected because they have different dynamics of the COVID-19 epidemic process, and their governments have applied various control measures to contain the pandemic. The simulation results showed sufficient accuracy for practical use in the K-Nearest Neighbors and Gradient Boosting models. Public health agencies can use the models and their predictions to address various pandemic containment challenges. Such challenges are investigated depending on the duration of the constructed forecast.

Natural Language Processing (NLP) is a subset of artificial intelligence that enables machines to understand and respond to human language through Large Language Models (LLMs)‥ These models have diverse applications in fields such as medical research, scientific writing, and publishing, but concerns such as hallucination, ethical issues, bias, and cybersecurity need to be addressed. To understand the scientific community’s understanding and perspective on the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in research and authorship, a survey was designed for corresponding authors in top medical journals. An online survey was conducted from July 13th, 2023, to September 1st, 2023, using the SurveyMonkey web instrument, and the population of interest were corresponding authors who published in 2022 in the 15 highest-impact medical journals, as ranked by the Journal Citation Report. The survey link has been sent to all the identified corresponding authors by mail. A total of 266 authors answered, and 236 entered the final analysis. Most of the researchers (40.6%) reported having moderate familiarity with artificial intelligence, while a minority (4.4%) had no associated knowledge. Furthermore, the vast majority (79.0%) believe that artificial intelligence will play a major role in the future of research. Of note, no correlation between academic metrics and artificial intelligence knowledge or confidence was found. The results indicate that although researchers have varying degrees of familiarity with artificial intelligence, its use in scientific research is still in its early phases. Despite lacking formal AI training, many scholars publishing in high-impact journals have started integrating such technologies into their projects, including rephrasing, translation, and proofreading tasks. Efforts should focus on providing training for their effective use, establishing guidelines by journal editors, and creating software applications that bundle multiple integrated tools into a single platform.

Human resource management during project implementation in a multi-project environment requires addressing the resource-constrained project scheduling problem. Agile methodologies allow for greater management flexibility, necessitating an agile transformation of human resource management processes. Changes occurring in human resource management lead to modifications in the initial project team and alterations in the state of the resource pool in a multi-project environment. To ensure controllable changes in the project team and address the task of allocating (reallocating) limited resources among project tasks in a multi-project environment with subsequent optimization based on a selected criterion, it is proposed to use configuration management of human resources. Depending on the chosen level of detail, project specifics, and the implementation environment, configuration elements can be an executor, project team, or intact team. Types of equivalence applied to the set of configuration elements have been classified. A model of the configuration management process for human resources has been considered. Using the proposed model will allow for formalizing the process of implementing human resource configuration management in a multi-project environment. Constructive enumeration of configuration elements in a multi-project environment has been examined. Identifying a typical representative of the configuration and considering the given equivalence, followed by selecting a resource allocation/reallocation option that meets the specified constraints, enhances team adaptability. An example of configuration management in addressing team composition management tasks has been discussed. The proposed approach can be applied in managing human resources for agile transformation projects of critical infrastructure, particularly in the healthcare sector, during the establishment of hospital clusters and supercluster medical institutions. This is because implementing such projects necessitates continuous monitoring of changes and requirements for resource provisioning.

The global COVID-19 pandemic began in December 2019 and spread rapidly around the world. Worldwide, more than 230 million people fell ill, 4.75 million cases were fatal. In addition to the threat to health, the pandemic resulted in social problems, an economic crisis and the transition of an ordinary life to a "new reality". Mathematical modeling is an effective tool for controlling the epidemic process of COVID-19 in specified territories. Modeling makes it possible to predict the future dynamics of the epidemic process and to identify the factors that affect the increase in incidence in the greatest way. The simulation results enable public health professionals to take effective evidence-based responses to contain the epidemic. The study aims to develop machine learning and compartment models of COVID-19 epidemic process and to investigate experimental results of simulation. The object of research is COVID-19 epidemic process and its dynamics in territory of Ukraine. The research subjects are methods and models of epidemic process simulation, which include machine learning methods and compartment models. To achieve this aim of the research, we have used machine learning forecasting methods and have built COVID-19 epidemic process linear regression model and COVID-19 epidemic process compartment model. Because of experiments with the developed models, the predictive dynamics of the epidemic process of COVID-19 for 30 days were obtained for confirmed cases, recovered and death. For ‘Confirmed’, ‘Recovered’ and ‘Death’ cases mean errors have almost 1.15, 0.037 and 1.39 percent deviant, respectively, with a linear regression model. For ‘Confirmed’, ‘Recovered’ and ‘Death’ cases mean errors have almost 3.29, 1.08, and 0.71 percent deviant, respectively, for the SIR model. Conclusions. At this stage in the development of the epidemic process of COVID-19, it is more expedient to use a linear model to predict the incidence rate, which has shown higher accuracy and efficiency, the reason for that lies on the fact that the used linear regression model for this research was implemented on merely 30 days (from fifteen days before 2nd of March) and not the whole dataset of COVID-19. Also, it is expected that if we try to forecast in longer time ranges, the linear regression model will lose precision. Alternatively, since SIR model is more comprised in including more factors, the model is expected to perform better in fore-casting longer time ranges.
