Ersilia Buonomo completed a degree in Medicine in 1982 and a PhD in Epidemiology and Microbiology at the University of Rome “La Sapienza” in 1994. She currently works as an Associate Professor of Hygiene and Public Health at the Department of Biomedicine and Prevention, “Tor Vergata” University of Rome. She also serves as the President of the University Degree in Pediatric Nursing at the IRCSS Pediatric Hospital “Bambino Gesù” of Rome, Italy. She is an author and co-author of more than 200 scientific papers presented at national and international congresses which have been published in national and international journals. She has received a mandate by the Rector of the Catholic University "Our Lady of Good Counsel" in Tirana, Albania, for the "Gender Equity Plan, Measures for the Diversity abled people and Social Engagement" since 2023.
