Justina Rusteikaitė is a first-year PhD student and currently works as a junior researcher at the Laboratory of Preclinical Drug Investigation, Institute of Cardiology, Lithuanian University of Health Sciences. She obtained her Bachelor's degree in the field of Medical and Veterinary Genetics in 2016. Afterwards, she was awarded a Master's degree in Medicine with Industrial Specialization/Translational Medicine programme from Aalborg University, Denmark. From graduation in 2018 until 2020, she worked on a few projects as a junior researcher: EXOTARGET project, development of exosomes as a potential drug carrier and INTELEKTAS projects, development of functional drinks. Justina's research interests are mainly in 3D in vitro modelling. The topic of her Master thesis was "Investigation of Interaction of Primary Neuronal-Glial Cells With Functionalized Synthetic Peptide Hydrogels", and this research contributed to a publication (https://doi.org/10.3390/biom10050754). Her current research focus is on the development of 3D in vitro vascularised models for preclinical drug research.
