Dr. Alexander B. Tesler is a postdoctoral fellow at the Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Chemical Engineering from the Technion–Israel Institute of Technology, and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the Department of Materials and Interfaces at Weizmann Institute of Science under the supervision of Prof. Israel Rubinstein. After graduation, he spent several years at the Wyss Institute for Bioinspired Engineering and School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Harvard University studying mechanically durable omniphobic slippery surfaces. His scientific interests range from mechanically robust omniphobic surfaces and molecular self-assembly monolayers to plasmonic materials, and the development of smart highly-ordered self-organized nanomaterials for photocatalytic applications.
