My scientific work primarily focuses on engineering geology, geomechanics, and soil and rock mechanics, with particular emphasis on slope stability, landslides, and the behavior of geological materials. A significant part of my research is devoted to the development of analytical, numerical, and statistical models for slope stability assessment, including the influence of terrain geometry, physical-mechanical properties, and discontinuities in rock masses. One of my distinctive research areas is the application of nonlinear dynamics, chaos theory, and stochastic modeling to landslide dynamics and other geological processes. More recent work also addresses the seismic and dynamic behavior of geotechnical structures, including the dynamic response of embankment dams under specific geotechnical and seismological conditions. Overall, my research is interdisciplinary, combining classical engineering geology and geomechanics with advanced mathematical and computational methods for the analysis and modeling of complex geological and geotechnical processes.
