Dr. Mohammed Aufy is currently a Senior Lecturer at the University of Vienna. He completed his Master’s degree in Biology at Al-Azhar University in 2005. From 2005 to 2007, he worked as an Assistant Lecturer at the Faculty of Science, Al-Azhar University, Egypt. He received his Ph.D. degree in Cell Biology and Biochemistry from the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU), Vienna, in 2012, followed by postdoctoral training at the Institute of Pharmacology, University of Vienna (2013–2016). His primary research focus is understanding the involvement of lysosomal proteases in various diseases and infections, alongside exploring the role of the epithelial sodium channel in both health and disease contexts.
