Prof. Dr. Vijay Kumar received his PhD in Molecular Genetics in 2003 from the Universiti Putra Malaysia. He is currently a tenured professor at the Biotechnology Research Institute, Universiti Malaysia Sabah. He has more than 25 years of experience in research in Molecular Genetics. His current research focus is on genomics, genetic engineering and biotechnology, population genetics, conservation biology, and molecular biology.
