Entomopathogenic fungi (EPFs) can infect and kill a diverse range of arthropods, including ticks (Acari: Ixodidae) that can transmit various diseases to animals and humans. Consequently, the use of EPFs as a biocontrol method for managing tick populations has been explored as an alternative to chemical acaricides, which may have harmful effects on the environment and non-target species. This review summarizes studies conducted on EPFs for tick control between 1998 and 2024, identifying 9 different EPF species that have been used against 15 different species of ticks. One of the most well-known and widely researched EPFs used against ticks is Metarhizium anisopliae, a fungus known for its ability to infect and kill various arthropods. When applied to tick-infested areas, M. anisopliae spores attach to the tick’s cuticle, germinate, and penetrate through the cuticle, leading to the eventual death of the tick due to the fungal infection. Whilst a number of studies support the potential of this and other EPF species against ticks, this review suggests that limitations to their effective use may include factors such as heat, humidity, and ultraviolet light (UV-A and UV-B). This comprehensive review aims to provide an overview of the literature on the potential of EPFs in tick control, focusing on their mode of action, previous field successes/failures, advantages, potential applications, and prospects for future practical developments.

Changing climatic conditions have an impact on the commercial harvest and production of Capsicum annuum L. across the world. It is a summer crop that grows best at 21°C (low) to 37 °C (high) temperature. Changes in normal growth, poor shoot and root length, increased antioxidant activity, low sugar content, high proline content, and poor yield were observed in bell pepper at low temperature stress. A research trial was conducted on bell peppers in the Department of Plant Pathology at University of Agriculture, Faisalabad. Bell peppers were cultivated hydroponically and alpha-tocopherol control (0ppm), 25ppm, 50ppm, and 100ppm were applied in foliar application. At the reproductive period, a low temperature stress of 18 °C day and 15 °C night was used given. After seven days of foliar spray, plants were exposed to cold temperatures during the day and night. After seven days of stress, the plants were harvested and morphological, physiological, and biochemical data were examined. Plant growth, leaf area, number of leaves, buds, and flowers, photosynthetic pigments, relative water content, cell membrane permeability, total soluble sugar, total reducing sugar, protein contents, and total free amino acid levels were all reduced when exposed to high temperatures. When the stress of low temperature was applied, there was a rise in proline, phenolic, flavonoid, H2O2, MDA, enzymatic antioxidants SOD, CAT, POD, and in APX. Under temperature stress, foliar application of alpha-tocopherol significantly improved CAT, POD, APX activity, decreased MDA, H2O2, and improved proline content. Exogenously administered alpha-tocopherol was found to be effective in boosting capsicum growth and antioxidant capability under low temperature stress.

Self-regulation is regarded as important due to its positive impact on educational and behavioural results. Therefore, this study was conducted to explore motivational determinants of self-regulated learning for postgraduate students. This study was conducted at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad. A total of 202 randomly selected students were interviewed using the structured questionnaire, and collected data were analysed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). Results indicated that the determinants of internal motivation vary in their influence on students' motivation levels. The highest-ranked determinants were related to the student's belief in their capabilities, the perception of self-regulated learning as valuable, and the positive impact on self-esteem. Students perceived various positive outcomes and benefits associated with self-regulated learning. They believe it enhances their understanding, improves their grades, provides satisfaction, broadens knowledge, and motivates further learning. Students also value the ability to demonstrate their abilities to others and the opportunity to learn from mistakes. This implies that self-regulated learning seems to have a positive impact on students’ development, thus, continuous motivation is deemed important to increase the outcomes.

We introduce $\delta$ type vertex conditions for beam operators, the fourth derivative operator, on metric graphs and study the effect of certain geometrical alterations (graph surgery) of the graph on the spectra of beam operators on compact metric graphs. Results are obtained for a class of vertex conditions which can be seen as an analogue of {\delta} vertex conditions for quantum graphs. There are a number of possible candidates of {\delta} type conditions for beam operators. We develop surgery principles and record the monotonicity properties of the spectrum, keeping in view the possibility that vertex conditions may change within the same class after certain graph alterations. We also demonstrate the applications of surgery principles by obtaining several lower and upper estimates on the eigenvalues.
