Guangyan Yu is a senior Professor at the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Peking University School and Hospital of Stomatology. He has been a Vice President of the China Doctor Association since 2018, He was president of the Chinese Stomatological Association during the period between 2016 and 2021 and at present is the honorary president. Before that, he was appointed to the Dean of Peking University School of Stomatology from 1996 to 2009, and a President of the Asian Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons from 2012 to 2014. His interesting research fields include clinicopathological study on salivary gland tumors; functional surgery of salivary gland; mechanism of saliva secretion of normal and denervated salivary glands; diagnosis and management of IgG4-related sialadenitis; and transplantation of salivary gland for treatment of severe dry eye. He was awarded the National Science and Technology Awards by the State Council (2012).
