Ander Matheu is the Cellular Oncology group leader at the Biogipuzkoa Health Research Institute. His group's research line focuses on the characterization of the molecular mechanisms underlying cancer and aging. Ander Matheu obtained his Ph.D. at the CNIO (Spanish National Cancer Research Centre) in 2005 and completed his postdoctoral training at the MRC-NIMR (London, 2006–2011). He then joined Biogipuzkoa HRI as a Miguel Servet researcher (ISCIII) to head the Cellular Oncology Research Group in 2011. Furthermore, he is an Ikerbasque Research Professor.
