Prof. Tiantao Zhang is an associate researcher at the Institute of Plant Protection, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. He completed his PhD studies in Agricultural Insects and Pest Control at North West Agriculture and Forestry University in 2011. He has been engaged in maize pest control research for a long time and has studied the function of the Asian corn borer olfactory genes and olfactory recognition mechanism, as well as the interactions with host plants. He has clarified the interactive resistance between Cry1Ac, Cry1Ie, and Cry1Ab Bt proteins, and he has elucidated the mechanism of resistance through transcription and proteomics.
