Biography

Nosra Methneni holds a PhD degree from the University of Monastir, Tunisia, in Biological Sciences and Biotechnology, awarded in 2021. Her doctoral research relates to the characterization of textile wastewater in Tunisia using physico-chemical, analytical and toxicological approaches. She has a rich experience in the physical and biological remediation of textile wastewater. She previously authored the articles, "Assessment of natural coagulants to remediate Tunisian textile wastewater by combining physicochemical, analytical, and toxicological data", "Ecotoxicity profile of heavily contaminated surface water of two rivers in Tunisia", and "Persistent organic and inorganic pollutants in the effluents from the textile dyeing industries: Ecotoxicology appraisal via a battery of biotests". She holds a research master’s degree in Biology and Cell Physiology from 2016. The focal aim of her master's was an investigation into the in vivo and in vitro pesticide toxicity, and the purification of water contaminated by pesticides. Currently she works as a postdoctoral researcher in the Chemistry Laboratory for Water-Soil-Biosolids, University of Carthage, Tunisia, in the field of water chemical pollution and emerging pollutants.
