Prof. Xilu ZHAO received his Ph.D. in Engineering from the Hokkaido Institute of Technology in 1998 and Tokyo Institute of Technology in 2010. He was a professor at the School of Mechanical Engineering, Jiangsu University of Science and Technology from 2009 to 2011, and then a professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Saitama Institute of Technology. His main research topics include using origami engineering to reduce the weight of new car bodies, improve their performance and develop processing methods, optimal design of structural shapes, sheet metal stamping, etc. His research areas include manufacturing technology (mechanics, electrical and electronic, chemical engineering)/material mechanics, mechanical materials/material mechanics, mechanical materials related, etc.
