Dr. Dragana Samardžija Nenadov is employed as a Senior Research Associate at the Laboratory for Endocrine Disruptors and Cell Signaling (ENDOS), Department of Biology and Ecology, Faculty of Sciences, University of Novi Sad, Serbia. Her research focuses on molecular and reproductive toxicology.
Her work has been focused on the effects of hormonally active substances and endocrine disruptors on the function of ovarian granulosa cells in rats and humans. The results of these studies have contributed to a better understanding of the toxic effects of these substances, particularly the mechanisms of action affecting ovarian granulosa cell function.
Following the completion of her PhD, Dragana Samardžija Nenadov directed her research toward investigating the chronic effects of endocrine disruptors detected in human follicular fluid, using a continuous human non-luteinized granulosa cell line (HGrC1). These studies are of great importance for improving the understanding of the effects of long-term exposure to low doses of endocrine disruptors and reflect realistic human exposure to these substances.
Currently, she is involved in a project funded by the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia (project leader: Dr. Nebojša Andrić), which is focused on developing new methodologies for assessing the harmful effects of chemicals from occupational and environmental exposure on human health.
