Short Biography

Antara Banerjee is working as an Associate Professor at Chettinad Academy of Research and Education (CARE). She received her Ph.D. in zoology at the University of Kalyani, West Bengal, India, in 2008, and she completed her post-doctoral training at the University of Padova, Italy, and the Karolinska Institute, Sweden. She has been working in the field of stem cells for the past 15 years. Her research interests include the investigation of the role of mesenchymal niche in tissue regeneration and tumor-specific niches/microenvironments as a therapeutic target for colon cancer. She has received the Young Scientist award from DST SERB, ECR, Govt. of India; consultancy research grants from Retort Pharmaceuticals, India; and SEED research grants from CARE. She has been a member of various research organizations including the Indian Association of Cancer Research (IACR), the Indian Science Congress, and the Aesthetic Multispeciality Society in Europe.
