Biography

I, Samir A. El-Tantawy, Associate Professor, work in the Department of Physics at the Faculty of Science, Port Said University, Egypt. I completed my Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics (Plasma Physics) at Port Said University, Egypt in June 2014. I was promoted to Associate Professor in February 2020. I was a visiting Doctor at Ruhr University Bochum, Germany from June 2014 to February 2015. I have won some national awards, such as the highest citation award from the Ministry of Higher Education in the Arab Republic of Egypt in 2012. My current research interests include plasma physics; nonlinear dynamics and oscillations; some mathematical problems in engineering; applied mathematics; modeling and simulation; numerical analysis; rogue waves and breathers; solitons; soliton collisions and interactions; and shocks. Currently, I am involved in the development of several analytical and numerical methods for solving nonlinear problems in plasma physics and optical fibers, such as the multistage homotopy perturbation method, the multistage Adomian decomposition method, and the moving boundary method with the finite difference method. I established the theoretical physics research center at Al-Baha University in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2017, and since then this center has published strong-impact studies in top international journals.
