Braam, M.D. (1995), Ph.D. (1999), underwent psychiatry training in the "Valeriuskliniek", Amsterdam, 2003; they served as a psychiatrist at Altrecht Mental Health Care, Department of Emergency Psychiatry and Department of Residency Training, Utrecht, the Netherlands. Further, they endowed the KSGV chair "Religion, worldview, and psychiatry" at the University of Humanist Studies, Utrecht, the Netherlands. They have the following research interests: empirical study of religiousness, spirituality, and meaning in life and psychiatry; epidemiology of late-life depression; empirical study of issues in emergency psychiatry. Member of the European Network on Religion, Spirituality, and Health. Board Member of the Kenniscentrum Levensbeschouwing and Geestelijke Volksgezondheid (KSGV).
