Assistant Professor at the Chemical Engineering Department of the Faculty of Engineering of Porto (FEUP) and researcher at LEPABE (Laboratory for Process Engineering, Environment, Biotechnology, and Energy) and ALiCE (Associate Laboratory in Chemical Engineering). She regularly publishes the results of her research in the environmental, food, and cosmetic areas. She has 113 scientific publications with a SCOPUS H-index of 40 and 6700 citations. She has been mentioned four times among the 2% most cited researchers in the world. Her actual research has been focused on the valorization strategy of agro-industrial by-products; food, environment, cosmetics, and health areas: studies of microencapsulation and controlled release (food, biopesticides, and cosmetics).
