In this article, we generalize some frequently used metrical notions such as: completeness, closedness, continuity, 1-continuity and compatibility to relation-theoretic setting and utilize these relatively weaker notions to prove our results on the existence and uniqueness of coincidence points involving a pair of mappings defined on a metric space endowed with an arbitrary binary relation. Particularly, under universal relation our results deduce the classical coincidence point theorems of Goebel, Jungck and others. Furthermore, our results generalize, modify, unify and extend several well-known results of the existing literature.

In this article, we prove some existence and uniqueness results on coincidence points for g-increasing mappings satisfying generalized φ-contractivity conditions in ordered metric spaces. As an application of one of our newly proved results, we indicate the formulation of a coupled coincidence theorem. Our results generalize, extend, modify, improve, sharpen, enrich, and complement several well-known results of the existing literature. Also, we point out that a recent coincidence point result proved in Dalal et al. (J. Adv. Math. 7(1):1084-1094, 2014) contains errors and omissions. MSC:47H10, 54H25.

After the appearance of relation-theoretic contraction principle proved in a metric space equipped with an amorphous binary relation (often termed as relational metric space), various core fixed point results have been proved in the setting of different relational distance spaces by varying underlying contraction conditions. In proving such results, the notions of completeness of ambient space, continuity of involved mapping and d-self-closedness of underlying binary relation are of paramount importance. The aim of this paper is to further refine the relation-theoretic contraction principle by relaxing the conditions of completeness and continuity by replacing their respective relation-theoretic analogues. Moreover, we observe that the notion of d-self-closedness utilized in relation-theoretic contraction principle is more general than the concepts of regularity and strong regularity utilized by earlier authors.

The principal results in this article deal with the existence of fixed points of a new class of generalized F-contraction. In our approach, by visualizing some non-trivial examples we will obtain better geometrical interpretation. Our main results substantially improve the theory of F-contraction mappings and the related fixed point theorems. In section-4, application to graph theory is entrusted and proved results are endorsed by an example through graph. The presented new techniques give the possibility to justify the existence problems of the solutions for some class of integral equations. For the future aspects of our study, an open problem is suggested regarding discretized population balance model, whose solution may be derived from the established techniques.

In this paper, we enlarge the class of C*-algebra valued partial metric spaces as well as the class of C*-algebra valued b-metric spaces by introducing the class of C*-algebra valued partial b-metric spaces and utilize the same to prove our fixed point results. We furnish an example to highlight the utility of our main result. Finally, we apply our result in order to examine the existence and uniqueness of a solution for the system of Fredholm integral equations.
