Dr. Rahman earned the DVM and MSc in Veterinary Surgery from Bangladesh Agricultural University, followed by a PhD in Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology from Jeonbuk National University (South Korea). His professional path spans both academia and industry: he served as a Senior Researcher in the in vivo experiment and R&D division at KNOTUS Co., Ltd. (now HLB BioStep), supporting preclinical research programs across a wide range of disease areas. Earlier, he contributed to public and animal health as an Additional Veterinary Surgeon in the Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) Active Surveillance Network Program, supported by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Department of Livestock Services in Bangladesh. Dr. Rahman’s research centers on pain neurophysiology and neuroimmune signaling, with particular interest in TRPV1/TRPA1 pathways, macrophage polarization, spinal glial activation, and the mechanisms driving neuroinflammation. He investigates how systemic factors—especially exercise and endocrine/metabolic modulators—reshape nociceptive processing in clinically relevant contexts such as inflammatory pain, neuropathic pain, and diabetic neuropathy, as well as in broader age-related and cardiometabolic disorders. His work is grounded in rigorous experimental design and high-throughput in vivo capability, including complex rodent surgeries, multimodal behavioral assays.
