Bing Li is a professor, doctoral supervisor, and deputy director of the Institute of Automation Engineering of Harbin Engineering University, deputy director of the National Germ Rice Professional Committee of the National Agricultural Product Processing Industry Development Alliance, a member of the Intelligent Robot Professional Group of China Computer Association, an expert in Heilongjiang Province's Modern Agricultural Industry Technology Collaborative Innovation System, and a member of Heilongjiang Young Science and Technology Workers Association. As the project leader, he has undertaken more than 10 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, including pre-assembly research and basic scientific research for national defense, as well as projects of the Natural Science Foundation of Heilongjiang Province.
