Pneumatic hexapod robot is driven by inert gas carried by itself, which has board application prospect in rescue operation of disaster conditions containing flammable gas. Cruising ability is main constraint for practical engineering application which is influenced by kinematics and dynamics character. The matrix operators and pseudospectral method are used to solve dynamics modeling and numerical calculation problem of robot under straight line walking. Kinematics model is numerically solved and relationship of body, joints, and drive cylinders is obtained. With dynamics model and kinematics boundary conditions, the optimal input gas pressure of leg swing and body moving in one step is obtained by pseudospectral method. According to action character of magnetic valve, calculation results of control inputs satisfy engineering design requirements, and cruising ability under finite gas is obtained.

Springs are critical components in mining vibrating screen elastic supports. However, long-term alternating loads are likely to lead to spring failures, likely resulting in structural damages to the vibrating screen and resulting in a lower separation efficiency. Proper dynamic models provide a basis for spring failure diagnosis. In this paper, a six-degree-of-freedom theoretical rigid body model of a mining vibrating screen is proposed, and a dynamic equation is established in order to explore the dynamic characteristics. Numerical simulations, based on the Newmark-β algorithm, are carried out, and the results indicate that the model proposed is suitable for revealing the dynamic characteristics of the mining vibrating screen. Meanwhile, the mining vibrating screen amplitudes change with the spring failures. Therefore, six types of spring failure are selected for simulations, and the results indicate that the spring failures lead to an amplitude change for the four elastic support points in the x, y, and z directions, where the changes depend on certain spring failures. Hence, the key to spring failure diagnosis lies in obtaining the amplitude change rules, which can reveal particular spring failures. The conclusions provide a theoretical basis for further study and experiments in spring failure diagnosis for a mining vibrating screen.

A large headframe is the core structure of a mine hoisting system. In the traditional design, only the static analysis under load is considered, resulting in the resonance phenomenon of the large headframe in later applications. In order to restrain the resonance phenomenon, a novel method for dynamic characteristic analysis and structural optimization design of a large headframe is proposed. First, the eigenfrequencies and vibration modes of the large headframe were obtained through modal analysis. The results showed that the numerical values of the multi-order eigenfrequencies of the system are relatively close. When subjected to alternating loads of similar frequencies, a large headframe is prone to the resonance phenomenon. Second, the steady-state vibration response of the large headframe was obtained through harmonic response analysis. The results showed that when the frequency of the alternating load is close to the first-order eigenfrequency, the vibration amplitude increases. Meanwhile, the fourth-order and the fifth-order eigenfrequencies are very close. When subjected to alternating loads of similar frequencies, the fourth-order and the fifth-order vibration modes of the headframe will be excited simultaneously. At this time, the headframe will have a strong resonance, which may cause structural damage and other problems. Finally, based on the above analysis, nine different structural optimization schemes are proposed in this paper. Through modal analysis and harmonic response analysis, the nine schemes were compared and analyzed, and the optimal scheme was eventually determined as scheme 9. The method proposed in this paper provides a new concept for the structural optimization design of a large mining headframe, and it has great significance for restraining the resonance phenomenon and ensuring the safety of mining operations.

In order to simulate the grinding surface more accurately, a novel modeling method is proposed based on the ubiquitiform theory. Combined with the power spectral density (PSD) analysis of the measured surface, the anisotropic characteristics of the grinding surface are verified. Based on the isotropic fractal Weierstrass–Mandbrot (W-M) function, the expression of the anisotropic fractal surface is derived. Then, the lower bound of scale invariance δmin is introduced into the anisotropic fractal, and an anisotropic W-M function with ubiquitiformal properties is constructed. After that, the influence law of the δmin on the roughness parameters is discussed, and the δmin for modeling the grinding surface is determined to be 10−8 m. When δmin = 10−8 m, the maximum relative errors of Sa, Sq, Ssk, and Sku of the four surfaces are 5.98%, 6.06%, 5.77%, and 4.53%, respectively. In addition, the relative errors of roughness parameters under the fractal method and the ubiquitiformal method are compared. The comparison results show that the relative errors of Sa, Sq, Ssk, and Sku under the ubiquitiformal modeling method are 5.36%, 6.06%, 5.84%, and 4.53%, while the maximum relative errors under the fractal modeling method are 23.21%, 7.03%, 83.10%, and 7.25%. The comparison results verified the accuracy of the modeling method in this paper.

In order to accurately obtain the contact stiffness of rough joint surfaces machined by turning and grinding, a research simulation is carried out by using the finite element method. Based on the surface modeling method under the combined machining mode, the three-dimensional (3D) solid model is constructed. Then, the finite element results of the normal contact stiffness were obtained through contact analysis. The comparative analysis was carried out with the analytical results of the KE model and the experimental results. The comparison results show that three results have the same trend of change. However, the maximum relative error of the finite element results is 6.03%, while that of the analytical results for the KE model is 60.07%. After that, the finite element results under different machining parameters are compared. The normal contact stiffness increases with the increase in the turning tool arc radius, grinding depth, and fractal dimension, but decreases with the increase in the turning feed rate and scale coefficient. The rationality of the results is explained by the distribution of the asperities and the contact deformation law of the asperities on the rough surface.

Aiming at the problem of the detect and rescue in the coal mine with the leaking vas, a type of pneumatic hexapod explored robot which uses a high pressure nitrogen cylinder as the power producer is designed. The leg mechanism is designed with three degrees of freedom, the straight line walking and turning gaits are planned, which are testified by the virtual prototype. The control loop of the cylinder is designed with the magnetic valve with three positions and five paths. The air bottle, the reducing valve, the general follow control part (GFC) the magnetic valve with three positions and five paths, the cylinder are selected and the air supply loop of the hole machine is designed, the 3D model of the hole machine is built which is used to confirm the installing form of the hole body. The experimental prototype is obtained at last. The power supply and control circuits of the magnetic valves are designed, the control series is written on the Arduino single chip. The experiment of the leg swing of the robot on the stage is proceeded which verifies the correctness of the design.
