Dr. Joseph Gweyi-Onyango is an Associate Professor of Systems Agronomy/Plant Nutrition at the Department of Agricultural Science and Technology, Kenyatta University. He graduated with a B.S. in Agriculture from the University of Nairobi in 1992 and received an MSc in Agronomy at the same university in 1998. He obtained his Ph.D. in Agricultural Sciences (Plant Nutrition) at the University of Hohenheim in 2006. His area of specialization is plant nutrition/systems agronomy. Dr. Gweyi-Onyango's research interests include modeling, artificial intelligence, precision nutrient management, nitrogen flows and budgeting, phosphorus uptake kinetics, mycorrhizae in degraded soils, biofertilizers, agroecology and biodiversity management, outreach and community service.
