I started research in the fields of paediatric ophthalmology since 2010 with focus on rare eye diseases. My main interest is on syndromic and non-syndromic inherited retinal dystrophies mainly aiming to provide data and offer future therapeutic approaches to young patients with these devastating conditions. Collaborating with several pediatric subspecialties (i.e. genetics, neurosurgery, neurology, etc.) in a pediatric hospital setting, I developed expertise and interest in managing severe syndromic patients. From 2014 I lead the Ophthalmic Genetic Clinic in strict collaboration with geneticist providing a comprehensive evaluation of syndromic and non-syndromic rare eye diseases.
