Geologically, La Paz City is located in an unstable area. During the history of La Paz city, many landslides have destroyed houses and valuable infrastructures. In the last decades, time series Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) technologies have demonstrated a great capacity for detecting slow ground displacement, achieving an accuracy of millimetre-level. In order to have a better landslide monitoring of La Paz city, in this study, the Sentinel-1 SAR images have been processed by Persistent Scatterer Interferometry (PSI) and the Small Baseline Subset (SBAS) techniques. The time span of the datasets is from March 2015 to August 2016. Both ascending and descending Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images have been processed to obtain the line of sight (LOS) ground velocity, and then the results have been combined to estimate the up-down and east-west displacement. Several active movement areas have been identified, showing a surface velocity up to 158 mm year−1 westward and 49 mm year−1 eastward. Furthermore, two important findings have been discovered. First, the InSAR result has detected movement in Auquisamaa hill before the area collapsed (15 February 2017), where five houses are buried. Second, the InSAR result has identified that there are still some unstable sites in Callapa area, where a mega-landslide has destroyed more than a thousand of houses in February 2011. In conclusion, we have verified that the InSAR technology could be a very useful tool to help La Paz public institutions for a better management of urban planning, landslide areas delimitation and landslide risk mitigation.
A new method of designing horn-fed frequency scanning holographic antenna is proposed. The artificial surface design of holographic antenna is based on generalized law of reflection. The input admittance is utilized to construct the interference pattern of the surface which is intervened by the excitation wave and the required radiation wave. The scalar admittance unit cell which is composed of sub-wavelength metallic patch on grounded dielectric substrate is implemented to design artificial surface, and the simulation results are just as expected that the antenna can scan the beam as the frequency changes. Furthermore, a cross shaped patch printed on grounded dielectric unit cells is used to reduce the designing complexity of tensor admittance surface. At last, a frequency scanning holographic antenna with tensor admittance surface with ability of changing linear polarization excitation wave to left-hand circular polarization (LCP) radiation wave is designed and fabricated. The full-wave simulation and experimental results show well agreement and confirm the method proposed.

In this letter, an attention-based residual network (ResNet) is proposed to predict the radiation pattern of phased array antenna (PAA). The proposed model consists of two input and preprocessing modules, a ResNet-attention module and a multi-layer perception (MLP) module. It enables simultaneous prediction of the radiation patterns for PAAs with multiple arrangements and frequencies, which supports the design of PAA and ensures the optimal performance of the equipment in the same electromagnetic environment (EME). Various antenna arrays are utilized to verify the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed model. Discussions also encompass the model's performance under a large array and its generalization capabilities.

Various natural and artificial materials are anisotropic. The inverse scattering problem of anisotropic scatterers is widely involved in oil detection, nondestructive evaluation of composite materials and microscopic imaging of biological tissue. In this contribution, the two-dimensional inverse scattering problem of biaxial anisotropic scatterers illuminated by the TE-polarized incident wave is investigated. Since the biaxial anisotropic scatterer has different permittivity components along different transverse directions, the problem faced with is more complex than in the scalar TM-polarized case. The subspace-based distorted-Born iteration method (S-DBIM) is employed. Only one regularization term is involved in the inversion, which is proven to be quite robust against noise and flexible to be chosen. Both synthetic and experimental results are given to prove the validity of the proposed method. The results illustrate that as the interaction between the incident electric field and the scatterer induces a directional scattered field, the images constructed appear clear into the strongly scattered directions, but blurred into weakly ones. Overall, S-DBIM is shown to yield super-resolved images for the biaxial anisotropic scatterers, while being quite robust with respect to noise.
We propose a reflective metasurface based on an artificial admittance modulation surface to generate three-dimensional spatially curved beams. The phase acquisition utilized to modulate this sinusoidally varying surface admittance combines the enveloping theory of differential geometry and the method for producing two-dimensional Bessel beams. The metasurface is fabricated, and the comparison between the full-wave simulations and experimental results demonstrates good performance of three-dimensional spatially curved beams generated by the metasurface.

Radio frequency power amplifier (PA) is an important part of the transmitter system, which can drive numerous output devices. However, the nonlinear characteristics of PA will cause serious harmonic interference, which leads to electromagnetic interference (EMI) problems. In this article, the nonlinear characteristics and the memory effect of PA are analyzed. The strong nonlinearity region and the weak nonlinearity region are divided according to the strength of the nonlinearity. For the strong nonlinearity, an encoder–decoder-based (E-D-based) artificial neural network model is proposed to predict the harmonic interference of PA. To promote the prediction of high-order harmonics when the input signal is small, a multilayer perceptron model is used for the weak nonlinearity region. The models can effectively predict the first five harmonics of PA, in which the mean absolute error of the fundamental wave is about 0.1 dB, the one of the second-order and the third-order harmonics is about 0.5 dB. Since transfer learning (TL) can simplify the training of the model based on the similarity of different tasks, TL based on model transfer is used to predict the harmonic interference of other PAs according to the existing models. The amount of data required for the modeling of PA can be greatly reduced and the accuracy of prediction can be guaranteed by applying TL. Ultimately, the proposed method can predict the harmonic interference rapidly and accurately according to the known excitation signal so that corresponding measures can be taken to avoid the influence of radiated spurious emission on the use of the sensitive receiving devices in the same electromagnetic environment.
