João Vinagre completed his Ph.D. in 2016 and is an Assistant Researcher with an FCT CEEC contract at the Cancer Signalling and Metabolism group in i3S and Ipatimup. He wrote a chapter in a book addressing telomerase in cancer. He gives frequent talks at several national and international events. He received several awards and honors based on his research studies, including best-published article by a Portuguese researcher, the Pulido Valente Award. He is a review editor in molecular biosciences (Frontiers) and an ad hoc reviewer in other publications (Scientific Reports, International Journal of Cancer, Epigenetics, Cancer Genetics, and others). He serves as a consultant in Ipatimup Diagnostics since 2012 for endocrine hereditary syndromes. He is an Affiliated Professor of the Medical Faculty of the University of Porto. He is a founding partner of the genetic test company U-Monitor.
