Food security is a major concern in many countries, including Indonesia. Land productivity has decreased due to shrinking agricultural land, global warming, and land degradation. Precision agriculture (PA) empowers people to use agricultural technology to increase productivity. Therefore, this study aims to examine PA from adopting agricultural machinery. The method used in time series analysis is pooled least squares (PLS). The results show that the transition from conventional methods to using mechanized tools, especially tractors, significantly (at a sig level of 1%) affects rice production in Indonesian rice centers. These results form the basis that Indonesian rice farmers are enthusiastic about various technologies, so the opportunities for PA are significant. However, the gap between PA research in Indonesia and developed countries needs attention, and research collaboration can be a solution. From a practical standpoint, PA integrated with the internet is challenging for Indonesian farmers. Therefore, empowering farmers through various synergy mechanisms is proposed in this study.

Global concern over environmental pollution has sparked the adoption of green business practices, which are essential for the sustainability of SMEs through green economy initiatives and renewable resources. This study aims to analyze the integration of circular and digital economy policies along with social protection policies in supporting green business innovation among culinary SMEs. By emphasizing the significance of government roles and innovation capabilities, the paper proposes that policies promoting environmentally friendly practices and social security can enhance sustainable performance in alignment with SDG principles. The study employs a quantitative approach, surveying 200 culinary SMEs in Surabaya City in Indonesia, a city known for its vibrant SME sector and commitment to sustainable practices. The data analysis, conducted using PLS-SEM through SmartPLS 4, reveals that circular economy policies (t-test = 6.503; p-value = 0.000) and social security (t-test = 3.848; p-value = 0.000) significantly enhance green business innovation, while digital economy policies are not significant (t-test = 0.725; p-value = 0.468). Furthermore, green business innovation positively impacts sustainable performance (t-test = 24.418; p-value = 0.000). However, internal innovation capabilities do not moderate the relationship between integrative policies and green business innovation. The findings indicate that government policies significantly influence green business innovation in MSMEs, particularly through circular economy regulations. Regulatory support and incentives are crucial for driving environmental sustainability and enhancing competitiveness. Strengthening digital economy policies through improved technology access and digital literacy will further support green innovation, while investments in internal innovation and human resources are vital for sustainable growth. Gunungkidul district, situated in the Karst Mountain area, represents one of the more poverty-stricken regions in Indonesia. The arid nature of this area, coupled with the scarcity of surface water, poses significant challenges to economic development endeavors, particularly in agriculture and animal husbandry. The vulnerability of the natural environment, unfavorable agro-climatic conditions, and unsuitable geographical features further hamper agricultural economic activities in the Karst Mountains of Gunungkidul. This condition causes dryland farm households to be vulnerable to food insecurity. Therefore, this study attempts to investigate dryland farm households’ food security in the Karst Mountain area and examine the associations of food insecurity using the share of household expenditure on food (SEF), energy intake levels, protein intake levels, and food security classification. Food security classification is specifically considered by two indicators, food expenditure proportion, and energy intake levels. The result showed that the number of family laborers, farming experience, household income, farm size, and production negatively impact the share of household expenditure on food. The average household energy consumption is sufficient, but the average protein consumption is less than others. Household food security in the Girisubo sub-district is still low since most households (70.09%) are undernourished, food vulnerable, and food insecure. Dryland farmer households need to get assistance from the local government or the private sector to grasp information about good expenditure management and food nutrition fulfillment in order to improve food security.

The coast of Sadeng Beach is a large potential for marine and fishery resources, which is, one of the potentials is tuna fish commodities. However, the utilization of these resources is still not optimal. The limited use of technology has hampered the processing and marketing of the products, resulting in a decrease in the economic value of tuna products. This Program Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) activity aims to boost community development by empowering the processing of marine fish products. So that, they become products that are worth selling higher. Empowerment carried out includes the provision of materials, equipment, and training in the manufacture of processed tuna products aimed at self-reliance and community self-reliance. The training covers how to process tuna raw materials from start to finish which includes raw material preparation, storage, additional seasoning, packaging, and distribution. The activity was carried out in Pucung Village, Girisubo District, Gunungkidul Regency by involving members of the Usaha Peningkatan Pendapatan Keluarga Sejahtera (UPPKS) Harapan. The method used in this activity is the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) method which involves active community participation and empowerment. Activities include providing materials and practices for processing tuna fish into tuna cracker products, tuna nuggets, and tuna tofu. The program impacts increasing knowledge and skills of tuna fish processing for empowering partners. Through this activity, the women of the UPPKS Harapan group can contribute economically to the household. The training activities were held on June 11 2022 for the assistance stage for the introduction of tuna processing materials, June 12-October 2022 for product marketing assistance, November 2 2022 assistance for creating social media content until the final evaluation stage is ongoing.
