Biography

Patrizia Piro is currently Full Professor of Hydraulic Infrastructures at the University of Calabria. Her research focused on water resources engineering and urban hydraulics, with particular expertise in urban drainage systems, flood risk in urban areas, and sustainable hydraulic solutions such as NBS and LID. Bruno Brunone is currently Full Professor of Hydraulic Infrastructures at the University of Perugia. His research focuses on hydraulic transients in pressurized pipe systems, transient test-based techniques for fault and leak detection, unsteady friction modeling, and the behavior of viscoelastic pipes. Federico Roman currently serving as Associate Professor of Hydraulic Infrastructures at the University of Trieste. His research focuses on CFD, small-scale environmental flows, hydraulic risk assessment, and sustainable solutions for urban resilience to climate change. Michele Turco is currently Tenure-Track Assistant Professor at the University of Calabria. His research focuses on urban hydrology, Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS), Nature-based Solutions (NBS), hydrological–hydraulic modeling, and numerical investigation of flow and transport processes in porous media. Umberto Sanfilippo is currently Assistant Professor at Politecnico di Milano. His research include urban drainage systems modeling, real-time control of urban drainage systems, decision support systems for water management, urban flood protection by developing SUDS to mitigate flooding impacts
