Yantao Shen received his Ph.D.degree in mechanical and automation engineering from The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2002. He is currently a Professor with the Department of Electrical and Biomedical Engineering, University of Nevada, Reno, NV, USA. His research has received support from various federal agencies, such as NSF, NIH, NASA, and DOE, as well as state and local agencies. His research interests include robotics, instrumentation and automation, sensors, and actuators. He has authored over 180 research articles in these fields, with several earning nominations for or winning Best Paper Awards at prestigious conferences, including ICRA, IROS, AIM, ROMAN, and ROBIO. He has also been a recipient of the NSF CAREER Award.
