Vladimir Glažar is a researcher and engineer based in Rijeka, Croatia. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Rijeka in 2011 with a dissertation entitled “Compact Heat Exchanger Geometry Optimization,” which included comprehensive thermodynamic and hydraulic analysis of compact heat exchangers through numerical modelling and experimental validation. Using validated 3D finite volume models and response surface methodology, he developed guidelines for optimizing the geometry of microchannel heat exchangers for HVAC applications. He previously earned his engineering degree at the University of Rijeka, specializing in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. His expertise includes parametric 3D modelling, CFD, and numerical analysis. His professional and scientific work focuses on thermodynamics, heat transfer, and energy systems, particularly compact and microchannel heat exchangers, as well as energy efficiency, renewable energy integration, heat storage systems, and exergy analysis of power plants. He collaborates with academic and industry partners on applied research and development in the energy sector.
