Guglielmo M. Tino graduated in Physics in Napoli in 1987 and obtained his Ph.D. at the Scuola Normale in Pisa in 1992. Since 2001 he is a Professor of Physics at the Department of Physics and Astronomy of the University of Firenze. He is associated with INFN and the LENS laboratory. The main topics of his research include: testing gravitational physics with ultracold atoms, the study of effects related to spin, and the measurement of time. He is the author of about 200 scientific articles, popular articles and contributions to encyclopedias, three patents, and the editor of three volumes.
