Dr. Chao Shen is currently a Professor at the Department of Communication Science and Engineering, Fudan University, Shanghai, China. He received a B.Sc. in Materials Physics from Fudan University, a M.Sc. in Materials Science and Engineering from KAUST, and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from KACST-KAUST-UCSB Solid-State Lighting Center, KACST TIC at KAUST. He serves as a Technical Lead & Principal Scientist at SaNoor Technologies Inc. His research topics mainly include Optoelectronics devices and components, semiconductor lasers, III-nitride materials and devices, visible light communications (VLC), LiFi devices and systems, laser lighting, underwater wireless optical communications (UWOC), and photonic integrated circuits.
