Dr. Anna Klamerus-Iwan is a Professor at the University of Agriculture in Krakow and a researcher specializing in ecological engineering and forest hydrology at the Faculty of Forestry, the University of Agriculture in Krakow. Her primary research focuses on determining the water storage capacity of forest ecosystem components such as deadwood and tree canopies. She calculates water reserves in mountainous and anthropogenically altered soils (urban areas, post-mining heaps). Her studies reveal factors that can exacerbate or mitigate drought conditions and identify forest stands best suited to mitigate pollution and adapt to climate change. She actively collaborates with a group of researchers within the European COST program, analyzing both the causes and effects of forest fires. She has completed a three-month research stay at the University of Leeds (UK), a one-month stay at the University of Granada (Spain), and several short-term research and teaching visits in Germany and Italy. Anna Klamerus-Iwan is a co-author of over 50 scientific articles and several book chapters and monographs. She has participated in numerous national and international research projects and is actively involved in various faculty and university committees, as well as the Doctoral School Council. Additionally, she serves as an ambassador for the "Girls into Science" program.
