Dr. Xun Chen is a professor of manufacturing in the General Engineering Research Institute of Liverpool John Moores University. He acquired his BEng from Fuzhou University, MSc from Zhejiang University, and PhD from Liverpool John Moores University. He specialises in advanced manufacturing technology including application of computing science, mechatronics, and artificial intelligence to manufacturing process monitoring, control, and optimisation, particularly to abrasive machining technology. His research has been extensively supported by the research councils and industries. Professor Chen is a founding member of the International Committee of Abrasive Technology and an editor in chief of the International Journal of Abrasive Technology.
