Sergiy O. Garbuzynskiy, born 08/12/1979. An experienced computational biologist with 40+ publications, with a base biochemical education and further work (including a PhD) in theoretical biophysics as well as bioinformatics. Main interest is in the theoretical investigation of biomolecules (mainly, proteins), their structure, folding, misfolding, and function (including binding). Graduated from Kharkov National University (Kharkov, Ukraine) in 2001 (master’s degree in Biochemistry). Has a PhD degree in Biophysics from the Institute of Theoretical and Experimental Biophysics, Pushchino, achieved in 2006. Since 2000, has been a member of the Laboratory of Protein Physics at the Institute of Protein Research, Russian Academy of Sciences, and is currently a senior researcher. Main research interests: protein folding and misfolding; bioinformatics; computational biology; biophysics; prediction of folding nuclei and folding rates; prediction of protein disorder; protein structure prediction; molecular dynamics; binding entropy; dissociation constants.
