Jana Žiarovská graduated in Applied Biology at SUA in Nitra and in Pedagogy at CPU in Nitra. She is the head of the Agrobiology Department of the AgroBioTech research center at SUA. She works as a professor of biology at the Institute of Plant and Environmental Sciences. She is the author and co-author of more than 100 scientific articles registered in the WOS and SCOPUS databases and more than 40 scientific articles outside these databases (h-index 13). In her research, she focuses on the field of plant genetic technologies, specializing in DNA markers of plant stress, expression of genes involved in stress response and allergens, and metagenomics. She has methodological experience with genetic technology techniques, specialized bioinformatics databases, and software for sequence analysis as well as experience with in silico sequence analysis. In her projects and research activities, she actively cooperates with universities and research institutions in Europe and Latin America.
