I am a Research Scientist at the National Institute of Forest Science, Republic of Korea. I received my M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Seoul National University, specializing in wood chemistry, forest-derived natural products, and terpene biotransformation. My research explores the environmental, physiological, and social values of wood and forest resources. In particular, I investigate how wooden indoor environments influence indoor air quality, humidity regulation, and human psychophysiological responses. I also conduct research on wood culture, public preferences for wood-based experiences, forest welfare demand, and the sustainable utilization of forest resources. My recent publications have addressed heart rate variability in wooden interiors, evaluation indicators for biophilic design, public demand for wood culture, forest welfare market forecasting, bioactive essential oils, and the functional improvement of wood materials.
