My research expertise includes novel drug delivery techniques, development of dosage forms utilized as hydrogels, organogels, suppositories and electrospun fibers for delivery of drugs in, STI treatment, HIV microbicide development, Contraceptive technologies as well as in wound healing applications. I utilize artificial intelligence, via artificial neural networks, and central composite designs in my drug development research. My research focuses on neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) a diverse group of tropical infections, which are common in low-income populations in developing regions of Africa specifically HIV prevention and development of products for wound healing. I am actively involved in public health engagement through research, provision of health information to health care workers, and participation in medical outreach programs to underserved regions in Africa.
