Prof. Dr. Peter Hewitson obtained his B.Sc. in Applied Chemistry from the University of Portsmouth in 1991 and his Ph.D. in Intermittent Counter-Current Extraction from Brunel
University London in 2014. He is currently a senior lecturer in chemical engineering at the College of Engineering, Design, and Physical Sciences, Brunel University London, UK. Before joining Brunel University London in 2006, he worked as a senior research scientist at Kodak Ltd. European Research Laboratories, developing novel photographic media, flexible displays, and solar cell technology, with patent filings across these applications. His current research
focuses on the scale-up of continuous liquid–liquid extraction technology, allowing for the large-scale separations of novel chemicals and bio-molecules for use in the pharmaceuticals industry.
