Dr. Hirpa G. Lemu received his MSc and Ph.D. degrees from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in 1997 and 2002, respectively. He is currently a Mechanical Design Engineering Professor at the University of Stavanger, Norway. His current research activities focus on simulation-based design optimization, the performance enhancement of energy conversion systems, composite materials, the characterization of natural fibers, multi-body dynamics simulations, the analysis of material anisotropy, material modeling and analysis, and additive manufacturing technology and simulation data management. Professor Lemu serves as a reviewer for many journals and is currently serving as an Area Editor for Simulation Modelling Practice and Theory and as a Special Issue Guest Editor for Metals (MDPI).
