Luis Serrano is an Associate Professor at the University of Córdoba (Spain). He has a degree in Chemistry and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at the University of Córdoba (2008). He worked as an advanced researcher at the University of the Basque Country and CNRS (France). He was the founder of two companies, Ma+D spin-off of the University of Basque country and the EBT company BioNC S.L. Moreover, is a part-time expert scientific evaluator for the European Commission in programs such as COST ACTION and BBI. He has extensive experience in the extraction, purification, and application of lignocellulosic biomass components (extracts, cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin).
