Dr Vladimir Vukovic works as Associate Professor at Faculty for Information Technology, Belgrade Metropolitan University. His research interests include applications of artificial intelligence, sustainable (energy-efficient, socially acceptable, environmentally friendly) building design and operation (whole life cycle approach) and, in particular, building information modelling (BIM) and digital construction twins, cyber physical and quantum system simulation and optimisation, predictive controls, indoor environmental quality, energy efficiency implications on occupants' wellbeing and productivity, energy-aware social networking enabled through smart metering, energy blockchain, augmented/mixed reality. Dr Vukovic joined Belgrade Metropolitan University from his post as Senior Research Lecturer at Teesside University, UK. He is also a director of V-LAB, start-up SME dedicated to commercialising some of his research. Previously, he was also a Research & Business Director at a research-intensive SME,
Exergy Ltd, and worked as a scientist and senior project manager
within the Energy in Buildings research field at the Energy Department,
Austrian Institute of Technology. His
PhD focused on AI applications was awarded by the Pennsylvania State University, Department of
Architectural Engineering, USA, in 2009. For his outstanding academic and
research achievements, he received numerous awards and recognitions including those from AIT, ASHRAE, A&WMA, Government of Serbia, TeesTech.
