In this paper the authors intend to examine by numerical simulation one of the newest methods for obtaining the knee condylar surface, namely by incremental forming starting from a commercially pure titanium (CP Ti) sheet. In order to study the influence of the geometrical parameters, the authors chose to vary the material thickness, the punch diameter and the vertical step of the punch. Two different values of the hemispherical punch diameter (d = 4 and 6 mm), two different initial thicknesses of the blank (t = 1 and 1.2 mm) and two different vertical step values (s = 0.6 and 1 mm) are taken into consideration. The numerical results of the simulations were centered on determining the thinning of the sheet, the major principal strain, the springback, the process forces and the manner in which these are influenced by the geometrical parameters that were varied.

The realizing and improvement of road infrastructure, of modern road networks provides normal, safe and pleasant road traffic conditions and also help prevent road accidents. The road network, with its constructive characteristics, has to offer optimal conditions for the movement of vehicles, pedestrians and other categories of participants in the road traffic. Starting from the case study of a road sector with heavy road traffic, the current paper analyzes the increase in road safety in Romanian localities along European and national roads through the implementation of specific measures such as setting up sidewalks, installing New Jersey median barriers, expanding the road sectors with 2+1 lanes, replacing normal pedestrian crossings with elevated crossings or with pedestrian crossing with mid-road waiting areas etc.

While cars and road traffic are an essential component of modern human society, the accidents that may occur in traffic are one of the largest sources of deaths and injuries. A first important step towards reducing these road accidents is the identification of their main causes. In the the current paper, the authors analyse the main causes of road accidents in Romania and then discuss the conditions surrounding the accidents that had as cause the failure to properly grant right of way, taking into account both the national, regional (county-level) and local statistics.

Starting from the fact that the natural gas engineering profession is generally associated with a high occupational risk, the current paper aims to help increase the safety of natural gas wells and reduce the risk of work-related accidents, as well as the occurrence of professional illnesses, by applying an assessment method that has proven its efficiency in other industrial areas in combination with a computer-aided design software. More specifically, the paper focuses on two main research directions: assessing the explosion risk for employees working at natural gas wells and indicating areas with a higher explosion hazard by using a modern software that allows their presentation in 3D. The appropriate zoning of industrial areas allows to group the various functional areas function of the probability of the occurrence of a dangerous element, such as an explosive atmosphere and subsequently it allows also to correctly select the electrical and mechanical equipment that will be used in that area, since electrical apparatuses that are otherwise found in normal work environments cannot generally be used in areas with explosion hazard, because of the risk that an electric spark, an electrostatic discharge etc. ignites the explosive atmosphere.
