Hao Li is currently a Ph.D. candidate at Kyoto University, Japan, and a research Fellow-DC2 of the Japan Society for the Promotion. He received his first class honors degree in mechanical engineering from Liverpool John Moores University (UK) and a dual bachelor's degree in mechanical design from Shanghai University of Technology in 2016. He was admitted to the School of Mechanical Engineering, Shanghai University of Technology for his Master's degree (2016-2019) under the supervision of Prof. Xiaohong Ding. His master research project is about: structural topology optimization design of high heat flow density heat dissipation components, during which he won the 18th International Conference on Electronic Packaging Technology & High Density Packaging (2017). In 2018, he received a full grant from the German Academic Exchange Service DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst) as a research intern in Universität Paderborn in Germany. He was awarded the Outstanding Master Thesis Award by Shanghai University of Technology in 2019. He then moved to Kyoto University in Japan to pursue his Ph.D. degree in Engineering with Prof. Shinji Nishiwaki (2019-2022) in Mechanical Engineering and Sciences, with his main research interests in mathematical modeling of multi-physics fields and topology optimization methodologies. His Ph.D. research project " Large-scale multiphysics topology optimization for thermal and fluid systems" was funded by JSPS grant (No. JP21J13418).
