Prof. Dr Simonida Tomić is a full professor at the Department of Organic Chemical Technology at the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, University of Belgrade, Belgrade, Serbia. She is an expert in the fields of material science and engineering, sub-area polymeric biomaterials, and engineering with a special interest in the synthesis and characterization of polymeric biomaterials, especially hydrogels as a matrix and scaffold for application in medicine and pharmacy. She coordinated and was involved in 11 scientific research projects. She has published more than 150 scientific papers and has been cited about 859 times, with an h-index 17. She has published a monograph of national importance and three chapters in books by eminent world publishers.
